NIEER Launches Two-Year Research Study with Teaching Strategies Ecosystem

The National Institute of Early Education Research (NIEER) announced the launch of a two-year project to study The Creative Curriculum. The primary objective of the study is to assess the extent to which the variations in levels of support to the curriculum are associated with differences in observed practices, children’s experiences, and children’s learning and development. The Fort Worth Independent School District is implementing The Creative Curriculum for Texas

The Fort Worth Independent School District is implementing The Creative Curriculum for Texas, which is provided by Teaching Strategies. Teachers from two-thirds of the district’s elementary school are now training to learn the new, child-centered curriculum ahead of the new school year. TEA Announces Pre-K Learning Solution to Support Texas Schools with In-Person and Remote Instruction

AUSTIN, Texas – November 19, 2020 – The Texas Education Agency today announced the next set of instructional materials – a full suite of resources and tools for prekindergarten – that will be made available to school systems through the Texas Home Learning 3.0 (THL 3.0) initiative. Like other THL 3.0 offerings, these instructional materials are optional, customized for Texas, and aligned to Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS)—the state standards for what students should know and be able to do.

Online Education Is Difficult for the Littlest Learners. Here’s Some Help for School Leaders, Teachers and Families

As the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic rapidly escalates, educators are facing an unprecedented crisis. Hundreds of colleges and universities have moved to online instruction, and as of this writing, governors in 46 states have shut down all public schools. According to Education Week, the coronavirus has shuttered 123,000 schools, affecting 55 million students.
